Privacy Policy
Last updated: Tuesday, November 3, 2026
Jute is operated by Townsquare Media Limited, based in Auckland, New Zealand. This policy tells you what information Jute collects, why we collect it, how we store it, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Who this policy covers
Jute is used by businesses to record deliveries and share delivery information with their customers. This policy covers people who use Jute, and people whose details appear in the delivery information our customers record.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, business name and login details. Passwords are stored in encrypted form. We cannot see them.
- Delivery information: details our customers record about deliveries, such as references, product details, dates and notes. This can include documents and photos they upload.
- Technical information: basic logs, used to keep accounts secure.
Why we collect it
We use this information only to provide Jute and keep it secure. We hold delivery information on behalf of our customers. They decide what to record. We do not sell this information, share it for marketing, or use it for any other purpose.
How we store it
We use trusted service providers to host, store and process data, including automated tools that help read uploaded documents. Some of these providers are outside New Zealand. We use only providers that apply security standards comparable to New Zealand law, and they may use the data only to provide their service to us.
Who can see it
Each user sees only the information their account allows. Jute administrators can see data only to provide support or fix problems.
How long we keep it
We delete delivery records a set time after a job is complete. When a customer's account closes, we delete all of its data within 90 days, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Security and breaches
We protect data with encryption and access controls. If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell the affected people and the Privacy Commissioner, as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it. You can also ask us to delete it. If the information is part of a customer's delivery records, we may ask that customer to act on your request. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
